Period Louis XVI gilt bronze cartel clock signed Gm Dubois a Paris

The white enamel Roman and Arabic dial signed Gm. Dubois with foliate pierced and chased hands, surmounted by a classical head; the backplate also engraved Gm. Dubois; anchor escapement and silk suspended pendulum; surmounted by an urn finial with ring handles and foliate swags hanging on down on either side of the dial, the dial with glazed pendulum aperture below decorated with laurel swags and with foliate cast terminal. Case attributed to Robert Osmond.  (Robert Osmond (Maitre-fondeur, 1746) and his nephew Jean Baptiste Osmond (Maitre-fondeur 1764) were pioneers of the neo-classic style.  They had their own workshops but often collaborated with other clockmakers.
